Recently, The Liturgical Institute hosted nearly 200 attendees for a ground-breaking conference joining the study of catechesis and the sacred liturgy, bringing together an unprecedented group of scholars and practitioners to address the question: What can be done to communicate the possibility that liturgy can be a transformative encounter with God which leads to the deepest levels of joy and missionary awareness?  This is a lecture from that conference.

About Jim Beckman:

A more than 20-year veteran of youth ministry, Jim has served in various roles of leadership in youth ministry on local, regional, and national levels. Jim has developed Catechetical and youth ministry training resources for years, and has served as a trainer for many national organizations, including Franciscan University, Life Teen, and the National Service Committee. Jim is a nationally-known speaker and trainer. He serves on the editorial board and is a frequent contributor for Formed Magazine, and has contributed articles to other publications: St. Anthony Messenger Press, New Covenant Magazine, and Our Sunday Visitor. Jim is also the author and founder of YDisciple, a series of teen discipleship and leadership formation resources. Jim and his wife, Meg, live in Highlands Ranch, CO, with their five children: Aaron, Claire, Daniel, Jonathan and Brian.
